Hey there!

I’m Melody, a Product Designer, based in Southern California who lives with one very spoiled cat.

My upbringing was very untraditional. By coincidence, my brother and I were adopted from Asia on the same day, 3 years apart. We spent the majority of our childhood living in New England with one parent from the UK and the other from the USA. Unfortunately, I didn’t inherit a cool British accent, but I did inherit a strong work ethic and a kind personality.

Why UX Design?

  • Growing up, I always enjoyed being creative whether it was creating a mini-cooper tea pot in high school (modeled after my dad’s car), learning to crochet, painting nails with fun designs, or baking.

  • I’m empathetic and a good listener. I like understanding other points of view when facing a problem.

  • I also enjoy critical thinking and problem solving. It lights me up to think about micro-interactions within an app and brainstorming ways to improve them.

  • I realized UX Design would be a great career path for me since I can utilize my creative brain, think critically, solve problems, and help people simultaneously.

Fun facts about me:

  • I love to bake. Sourdough bread has been my latest obsession.

  • I make homemade kombucha. Grapefruit is my favorite flavor :)

  • I am a huge fan of Hamilton. I’ve spent hours listening to the album, listening to podcasts, and watching interviews about the musical because I love it so much.
